Rebecca Bligh
FOR MAYOR
Rebecca Bligh is a two-term city councillor, President of the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM), and founder of Vote Vancouver. With eight years of experience at city hall, she will hit the ground running as your next mayor. Her vision is to create more self-sustaining neighbourhoods where people can access what they need within minutes of walking.
She believes that a city this good shouldn’t be this hard. The past four years have been chaotic, and the systemic issues remain the same, if not worse. As Vancouver’s mayor, Bligh will:
stabilize property taxesaddress long wait times for city servicesimprove safety through community planning
Property taxes have ballooned over the last 4 years. Vancouverites deserve a stable, predictable property tax increase, not a fake 0% increase this year, following by a 10% increase next year.
Safety concerns have not been addressed in the last four years. Bligh understands that several neighbourhoods need an official community plan to create safe housing, food security, mental health services. As mayor, Bligh will address challenging areas with modern community plans.
A vibrant city is possible. Bligh is the only one with a positive vision, the knowledge to hit the ground running, and the experience to put Vancouver on the right path, quickly.
