Bhavna Solecki

FOR CITY COUNCIL

Bhavna Solecki is a clinical researcher, entrepreneur, and community advocate dedicated to building a stronger, safer, and more prosperous Vancouver. With decades of experience founding and leading successful businesses across wellness, biotechnology, apparel, and plant-based innovation, Bhavna has built her career by identifying opportunities, solving complex challenges, and turning bold ideas into thriving enterprises.

Making cases of support is one her strengths. Bhavna researched different models of housing that have worked around the world. She found the Naturally Occurring Retirement Community (NORC) model works well in several countries. This resulted in a program where the younger people in one building help seniors to access online services such as government forms and online food orders in addition to increasing human connection that reduces depression stemming from lack of community. Bhavna also launched a collaborative project with Kits Neighbourhood House for seniors’ outings, to improve mental health. In her early career, she founded a women-led business in Uttar Pradesh to ensure fair-trade practices

Bhavna is running for Vancouver City Council to increase the implementation of NORC and other multi-generational community models. She brings a track record of getting things done through collaboration and inspiration.
