John Boychuk
FOR CITY COUNCIL
John believes Vancouver can — and must — become a city where people of all ages can thrive, especially as they grow older. After more than 30 years working in small business, community leadership, and housing operations, he’s seen firsthand how thoughtful planning and strong communities can shape people’s quality of life.
At the heart of his vision is housing that truly works for people. That means creating more affordable, accessible options, particularly for seniors, and supporting models that allow people to remain in the communities they know and love. He sees housing not just as infrastructure, but as the foundation for dignity, independence, and connection.
John also understands that strong neighbourhoods don’t happen by accident. They’re built through partnerships, local organizations, and inclusive spaces where everyone feels they belong. He’s committed to strengthening these connections — reducing isolation, improving access to services, and ensuring Vancouver remains welcoming to diverse communities, including LGBTQ2S+ residents.
With a background in managing complex projects and operations, John brings a practical, accountable approach to city-building. He believes Vancouver can grow in a way that’s both sustainable and livable, while supporting local businesses that bring energy and character to our neighbourhoods.
Ultimately, his focus is on people — creating opportunities for residents to get involved, supporting future leaders, and building a city that works not just for today, but for generations to come.
