Vancouver has been talking about speeding up permits for years. It’s time to get on with it. 

Rebecca will use better technology and simpler processes to cut delays and get decisions made faster.

When parents can’t find childcare, families feel it and our economy does too. 

Rebecca will make childcare part of Vancouver’s economic strategy, helping more parents participate in the workforce, by creating new childcare facilities on underused City land.

Major sporting and cultural events fill hotels and restaurants, support local businesses, and bring people together. 

Rebecca will compete to bring more major events to Vancouver and keep the teams and events already here.

City-owned storefronts shouldn’t sit empty while businesses, artists, and community organizations need space. 

Rebecca will open vacant City commercial spaces to people and organizations that can put them to use. 

Fewer empty storefronts. More life on our streets.

Artists should spend more time creating and less time navigating bureaucracy. 

Rebecca will establish an Arts Council with greater independence from City Hall. 

Vancouverites are already dealing with rising costs. City Hall needs to be careful about adding to them. 

Rebecca will work to keep property tax increases in line with inflation, bringing more predictability to what residents and businesses pay.
